L.C.M.H.C.S.

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (LCMHCs) in North Carolina are licensed by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. LCMHC Supervisors have completed additional graduate-level training in supervision and ethics, passed a criminal background check, accrued over 2,500 hours of clinical practice, and received professional recommendations from credentialed colleagues.

MI LPC

Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) in the State of Michigan are also held to high professional standards. Counselors seeking licensure by endorsement must have been licensed in another state for at least five years, with a minimum of 3,000 hours of clinical experience, and must have completed a rigorous graduate-level course of study. Michigan LPCs are also required to pass a comprehensive criminal background check.

Certified Clinical trauma professional

The International Association of Trauma Professionals is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to advancing the highest standards of accredited certification for today’s mental health professionals. Its certifications promote excellence in trauma-informed practice and professional accountability. Certification and accreditation help build trust, allowing clients, families, and payors to choose providers and programs with greater confidence and clarity.

B.C.C.

Board Certified Counselors (formerly known as “National Certified Counselors”) hold a nationally recognized credential demonstrating they have voluntarily met rigorous standards in the counseling profession. BCCs are trained and competent in areas including human growth and development, social and cultural foundations, helping relationships, group counseling, career counseling, assessment, research and program evaluation, and professional counseling ethics and practice.

BC-TMH

Board Certified Telemental Health Providers (BC-TMH) have specialized training in the ethical and effective use of modern technology to deliver care to individuals who may not have regular access to in-person counseling. This includes clients in rural or remote areas, established clients living or working overseas, and established clients residing in other states where the counselor is licensed. All services are provided in accordance with the laws and regulations of the location where the client is physically present.

To maintain BC-TMH certification, providers must engage in ongoing, intentional continuing education, including a minimum of four clock hours each year specifically focused on telemental health, in addition to broader ethical and clinical training.

The BC-TMH credential is a joint initiative of the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) and the Southside Telehealth Training Academy and Resource Center (STAR), a program administered by the University of Virginia Center for Telehealth and New College Institute.
